COVID-19 Related Q&A
How do I schedule an appointment?
If you are a current client, please contact your therapist directly by leaving them a message on their voicemail extension or by sending them an email.
If you are inquiring about a first-time appointment, please leave a message at 215-885-1835 x30 or email the Admin department at info@dianelangberg.com
How do I make a payment?
Currently, we are accepting payments by a check in the mail sent to 512 West Avenue, Jenkintown, PA 19046. Checks should be made payable to Diane Langberg Ph.D. You can include your name in the memo line. You may also make a payment via PayPal. Please email us for PayPal instructions at info@dianelangberg.com
How does remote counseling work during this time?
Your therapist will either set up a phone session or use a telehealth program called Doxy.me to hold your online video session. It is free and downloading is not necessary. You will need to use Google Chrome (Firefox, Internet Explorer and regular Chrome do not work). Doxy.me complies with HIPAA, GDPR, PHIPA/PIPEDA, & HITECH requirements.
Prior to your appointment you will be provided a link to the session. You will arrive in the virtual waiting room which should be done 10 minutes prior to your session to ensure your internet, audio, and visual are working. At your appointment time, your therapist will check you in and begin your session.
Do I need to complete any paperwork prior to my first virtual appointment?
Yes, Admin will send you a confirmation email with paperwork and instructions for payment & telehealth. Forms must be signed and returned before your first virtual session.
Does my insurance cover telehealth sessions?
Although the majority of insurance companies appear to be covering these services during the public health emergency, we would ask you to call your health insurance plan and ask specific questions as it relates to your mental health coverage:
- Call the number on the back of your card to verify mental health benefits
- Ask- Do you cover telehealth visits under mental health coverage? If so, is this only during the public health emergency and/or is it a regularly covered service?
- Ask- Do I have a copay or any payment responsibility for these services during the COVID-19 period.
NOTE: If you live outside of Pennsylvania we will need to verify if your state allows our therapists to practice in your state with a PA license or a temporary license.
“I believe that unless therapy is both incarnational and redemptive, in process and in purpose, we who call ourselves counselors will fail to bring to our clients true life as embodied in the person of Christ.” –Diane Langberg, Ph.D.
